Adderbury Party in the Park 16th June 2018
Less than a week to go 🙂 and the weather is looking good. Unfortunately The Duckworths have had to pull out as this years headliner, so we have moved Warwick Junction up to the top spot and invited The Uninvited back this year for the penultimate spot. Click on the Music page for the full line-up.
Adderbury’s very own community music festival is a one day event that has managed to keep going since 2002.
Our music festival takes place in the heart of the village community on Lucy Plackett Playing Field in Adderbury and attracts around 1500 people each year.
The event showcases an eclectic mix of music; mainly local bands and artistes, featuring a main stage (set up on a truck) and an acoustic tent.Party in the Park is run by a committee of professional, hard-working and dedicated volunteers who set up the event essentially to forge a strong community spirit, promote local musicians, and to give local people an enjoyable day out.
There is no admission fee, it’s by donation only, and is completely self-funding. Lucy Plackett Playing Field is a village amenity for all hence we are not able to fence it off for the event or charge an entrance fee.
The event relies completely on the generosity of all who donate to our bucket collections throughout the day, fees from stallholders, fund- raising events throughout the year and donations from businesses and other local groups.
Holding an event like this doesn't come cheap and costs increase each and every year, thankfully we have a number of sponsors which sponsor specific requirements:
